Ayant un peu de temps ces jours-ci, j'ai décidé de me mettre sérieusement à la résolution du dernier problème qui subsiste sur ma F15 : le temps de boot.
Pour commencer, la config :
*Laptop
*I5-430M
*HD5730 + chipset Intel (c'est ce dernier qui est utilisé, la cg dédiée est éteinte)
*HDD 500GB

Sur le HDD, j'ai une partition étendue qui contient le boot (ext4) et une LVM qui, elle, contient le /home en ext4 et / en btrsf.

Il y a donc deux services qui durent vraiment trop longtemps : fedora-storage-init.service et udev-settle.service.
La seule solution que j'ai trouvé, en parcourant mon meilleur ami, est de faire :
# ln -s /dev/null /etc/systemd/system/udev-settle.service
# ln -s /dev/null /etc/systemd/system/fedora-wait-storage.service
# ln -s /dev/null /etc/systemd/system/fedora-storage-init.service
# systemctl daemon-reload
Or, si j'ai bien compris (l'anglais et moi...), la procédure n'est à effectuer que si on n'a ni LVM ni RAID.
Si quelqu'un a une autre solution à proposer, je suis preneur 🙂

Et d'ailleurs, le boot.mount est un peu long aussi j'ai l'impression mais j'ai pas non plus trouvé grand chose là-dessus...

Il me semble avoir pourtant refait une installation complète quand j'ai installé F15 mais là du coup tu me fais douter.
J'avais lu le topic où tu en parlais il y a quelques mois mais j'en avais conclu que ça me concernait pas, j'vais retourner y faire un tour.

Je ne trouve pas de rapport de bogue sur ton problème, tu peux en faire un au cas ou? (cela m'étonne que pikachu n'est pas fait une attaque éclair...)
Je ne vais pas aider mais clairement ça semble être du au fait d'avoir mis du btrfs en système... J'avais le même comportement sur une installation et en passant en ext4 j'ai plus eu ce problème. À mon avis il faudrait fouiller le bugzilla pour voir si c'est pas ça le soucis...

Il semblerait que ça soit des problèmes liés au réseau qui n'est pas bien démarré. Comme c'est souvent le cas sur un portable. J'avais vu par exemple que le bluetooth dans ton dmesg peinait à démarrer. S'il n'y a pas d'adaptateur autant le désactiver.

Perso là je mets 36s pour arriver jusqu'au bureau, ce qui me pose problème c'est skype qui se lance... Sinon ça doit tourner autour des 25s max...

Après il te suffit de le mettre en veille sur mémoire comme je fais depuis F15, cela évite de trop pomper tout en démarrant tout de suite...

Par contre le temps le plus long c'est en espace utilisateur, donc je pense que c'est là dessus qu'il faudrait voir. Sous F15 je mettais 44s pour booter jusqu'au bureau...

Après 55s si tu le lance pas 36000x par jour (et oui... chui un gars du sud 😉...), c'est pas la mort non plus... En attendant F16 qui devrait sortir sous peut 😉.

Après j'aimerais voir ce dont tu dispose comme disque dur...

Fait un essais en désactivant ta carte wifi pour voir s'il démarra vite. Fait une recherche avec ton ami pour voir si quelqu'un d'autre à le même soucis. J'ai procédé de la même manière pour trouver une option à rajouter à la ligne kernel : http://forums.fedora-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=465036#p465036

Alors j'ai passé un peu de temps à faire des tests hier :
J'ai bien désactivé le service bluetooth (en fait j'ai bien le blueetooth sur mon laptop mais comme je m'en sers pas je l'ai éteint).

Le disque dur est un WD Caviar Blue 500Go @5400tr/min en 2.5" (pas un foudre de guerre mais sous F14 je démarrais en un rien de temps).

Pour la carte wifi, en l'éteignant via la touche de mon clavier, ça ne change rien. (A savoir que d'après mes recherches, "cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain" se lance avant même l'établissement d'une connexion internet).

Le problème principal a donc l'air d'être le montage d'une des partitions, et plus précisément la partition boot (sda5) qui est en ext4. J'ai pas eu le temps de finir les recherches mais je continuerai la semaine prochaine et posterai un rapport de bug par la même occasion.

Quant à F16 je ne pense pas l'installer avant un bon moment, c'est pour ça que j'essaye de bricoler un peu la F15 là.

Pour la veille sur mémoire, c'est vrai que je ne l'utilise quasiment jamais alors qu'effectivement ça peut être une bonne parade 🙂
Franchement la F16 n'est qu'une grosse mise à jour de la F15...

Là j'ai fais un preupgrade et j'ai gagné pas mal de temps en boot, ce qui explique sans doute ton problème.

Pour le disque, un 5400tr ça suffit, mais faut pas non plus espérer avoir plus de performance à ce niveau. MAis bon c'est pas la bonne periode pour trouver du disque dur pas chère... Les prix grimpent plus vite que le prix du carburant (snifff), là ils ont pratiquement triplé...
Oui, je le signale vu les alertes des fournisseurs et le prix qu'ils mettent... Quand c'est pas en attente d'approvisionnement sans date précise...

perso, j'ai toujours accordé une grande importance à la vitesse de boot (cf ce post)

De toutes évidences, il y a encore du boulot à ce sujet et pour l'instant systemd ne montre pas ce qu'il est censé faire, c'est à dire être plus performant que SysVinit et Upstart en parallélisant le lancement des services...
