Bonjour à tous, je suis tout nouveau sur ce forum bien que j'y sois passé assez souvent pour trouver réponse à mes problèmes sous fedora.

Sur mon poste fixe, je suis sous F8, tout va bien.

J'ai récemment acheté un portable vaio sr19xn (carte graphique Intel GMA 4500 et ai rapidement supprimé vista pour mettre fedora 9 à la place.
Ca a été le parcours du combattant :
- le netinstall ne marche pas quoi que je fasse, sur mon fixe, sur le portable alors que le réseau fonctionne très bien
- puis j'ai gravé un dvd... et ça a passé, si ce n'est que je n'avais pas accès à l'installation graphique... qui plantait
- j'installe donc en mode texte... (y a pas tant de choses compliquées à l'installation donc ça me va) et ça se termine correctement
- au démarrage, mauvaise nouvelle, le serveur x n'arrive pas à se mettre en marche...
- je remplace finalement le driver de xconf.org "intel" par "vesa" et le serveur x démarre...

Malheureusement pour moi, ce driver est très bas de gamme et ne fournit pas vraiment ce que j'appelle de l'accélération... je n'ai pas accès aux effets du bureau et la résolution maximale est du 800x600 (alors que je devrais pouvoir aller au-dessus de 1000 !)

Logiquement, je devrais utiliser le dernier driver d'intel vu que c'est leur dernière carte graphique en date, mais ça plante !
J'ai essayé d'utiliser le driver i810, ça plante tout autant...

Que dois-je faire pour m'en sortir ?

En fait, les chipset précédents (GMA X3100) avaient des drivers déjà encore assez incomplets, et les 4500 sont vraiment très frais donc je pense que pour le moment c'est assez difficile d'avoir quelque chose de bien fonctionnel.

j'ai aussi ce problème : mon driver ne fonctionne qu'en mode "vesa" basique (carte mère Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H)

par contre, j'ai fait l'installation à partir du dernier Fedora Unity respin Fedora-Unity-20080718-9-x86_64-DVD.iso (http://spins.fedoraunity.org/spins) qui s'est déroulée sans aucun problème (le mode graphique a bien fonctionné)

à savoir que mon autre carte mère à base d'Intel G33 a toujours marché nickel sous F9 (avec le driver "intel" pour Xorg)

j'espère que Fedora 10 résoudra ce problème ... il y a des fils de ci de là sur internet qui laissent à penser que ce sujet est actif

en ce qui concerne le matériel présent sur cette carte mère, on remarquera que le chipset vidéo est bien reconnu comme un G45 (Eaglelake)

Je suis dans un cas similaire, je viens juste d'acheter une carte mère à base de G43 et même si j'ai pu l'installer sans trop de souci, je me trouve limité au driver 'vesa', le i810 ou l'intel ne fonctionnant pas :-?

Les X4500 ne sont supportés qu'à partir de la version 2.4.0 du driver xorg-x11-drv-i810. Or le dernier dispo pour la fedora 9 est le 2.3.2.
Le 2.4.0 sera à priori dispo dans la F10.

Comme je ne voulais pas attendre, je me suis dit que je pouvais tenter une création de RPM (que ce soit clair : je n'y connais rien) à partir d'un SRPM de la F10.

J'ai installé tous les -devel qui vont bien et les dépendances.

Tout avait l'air de bien se passer et là, paf, ça marche pas : problème de dépendance => il faut la version 2.4.0 de libdrm me dit gentiment ma F9.

Euh, pourtant j'ai bien regardé j'ai la 2.4.0-0.13 ... qui bizarrement donne un libdrm.so.2.3.0 🙁

Agacé, je vais voir le .spec de la f10 (dans l'espoir avoué de le réutiliser pour ma f9).

Donc si quelqu'un avait une idée du pourquoi du comment on trouve libdrm.so.2.3.0 dans un paquet 2.4.0, ça m'intéresserait.

En passant, est-ce qu'il y a un timing prévu pour la sortie des kernels patchés pour fedora ?
Par exemple, je serais heureux de savoir quand ce fameux kernel 2.6.27 sortira car il risque de résoudre plusieurs des mes problèmes de matériel non-reconnu actuellement.
Comme je disposais d'une install toute fraiche, je me suis dit que je pouvais tenter de passer en rawhide pour voir si ça fonctionnait.

Et bien, toujours pas : j'ai eu droit à un gentil =>

Le noyau 2.6.27 est désormais disponible pour fedora 9 via yum.
Ca a réglé des problèmes (wifi pour moi), mais pas celui de la carte graphique.

J'ai testé "i810", display not found...

Le driver "intel" donne des variations de noir, comme si ça fonctionnait presque... puis ça bloque. Donc ça ne fonctionne pas.
