Pourquoi utiliser NetworkManager dans ces conditions (connexion filaire, ...) ?
Personnellement je n'utiliserais plus NetworkManager. Et un bon vieux system-config-network pour voir si cela fonctionne mieux.

J'avais eu un problème similaire à un moment.
La réponse était que le filaire était géré par network et le wifi par network-manager. Et c'est ca justement qui ralentissait tout. Donc un conseil, soit tout est géré par network soit tout par network-manager.
Moi j'ai choisi la 2e solution (en oubliant pas de désactiver le service network) pour les 2 et depuis fedora a retrouvé sa rapidité.

ensuite tu pourras être sur que ce n'est pas lui qui interfère (c'est ce que j'ai appliqué chez moi)

non, mais depuis que le service sendmail est arrêté, la navigation ne pose pas de problème, c'est uniquement le lancement des applications qui est long.
Une fois firefox demarré, je navigate normalement comme avant.
Les DNS ne sont pas forcés quand je suis sous XP et tout fonctionne normalement.
