Bonjour,

Curieusement, après un dnf update il y a deux jours, VLC ne lit que les fichiers audios, mais impossible de lire des vidéos quelques soit le format, il s'ouvre puis se referme.
J'ai réinstallé VLC, mais rien de nouveau.
Une idée , une piste à creuser ?

Ca c'est le résultat de 
$ sudo dnf history
Il faut que tu identifies la transaction dnf qui a causé le problème en fonction des dates et heures et que tu listes celle-ci.

Vu que la transaction dnf 143 est la réinstallation de VLC c'est sûrement la précédente ou une des précédentes qui a causé le problème .

Que retourne 
$ sudo dnf history info 142

Autre chose à faire, démarrer VLC dans un terminal et regarder les messages générés quand tu essaies de lire une vidéo.

Je n'ai pas été capable de reproduire l'erreur avec la même version de VLC, c'est sûrement un problème matériel.

Pourriez-vous, chacun, nous donner le résultat de ces commandes :

vlc --verbose 2
PS: en lançant la commande VLC, essayez de lire la vidéo.
Encore, plus bizarre, VLC n'a pas été mis à jour depuis le 17 juin, cela ne veut pas dire qu'il était dans les repos le 17 juin, mais ce n'est sûrement pas VLC que vous avez mis à jour.

Comme l'a précisé didierg, un dnf history info sur votre dernière màj serait utile, sauf que vous ne vous êtes peut-être pas rendu compte directement que quelque chose avait cassé... Ça va être difficile de retrouver le bon logiciel, réfléchissez bien à quand était la dernière fois que vous aviez utilisé VLC et faites un dnf history info sur chaque màj que vous avez fait entre temps...
sudo dnf history info #ID_MÀJ

Bonjour, merci pour votre réponse, mais, j'ai l'impression que c'est deux problèmes différents. Et j'ai bien spécifié --verbose 2 pas -v, ils n'ont pas le même résultat.
Pas un souci avec Wayland et l'utilisation de Xwayland ?
Moi aussi j'ai le même problème avec VLC...

Du coup j'utilise le lecteur "Videos" (Totem)...
Wow, ça a vraiment l'air d'être un problème généralisé, tous ceux qui sont touché par ce bug, faites-ça et postez-le ici :
  1. Lancez la commande : [q]lspci[/q]
  2. Quel DE utilisez-vous : Gnome, KDE ?
  3. Wayland ou X.org ?
  4. Pouvez-vous savoir quel est l'update qui a tout cassé, si oui, faites un [q]dnf history info #ID_MÀJ[/q], c'est très important ! Et regardez les posts #2, #3 et #4 pour savoir comment déterminer #ID_MÀJ
  5. Lancez VLC avec PRÉCISÉMENT cette commande : [q]vlc --verbose 2[/q]

Personnellement j'ai une carte AMD RADEON avec le driver amdgpu et vlc-3.0.7.1-3.fc30.x86_64 fonctionne SANS problème avec mesa-dri-drivers-19.1.3-1.fc30.x86_64:

Il serait intéressant de préciser la version de mesa-dri-drivers que vous avez d'installée et de regarder si la mise à jour fautive n'incluait pas mesa-*

Le version 19.1.3-1.fc30 de mesa a été construite le 24 juillet 2019 et selon bodhi elle a été poussée dans le repo stable le 30 juillet.

Pour vlc --verbose 2 il nous faudrait toutes les lignes et c'est normal si ça ne se crash pas directement.

  1. NVIDIA ! Comme l'a remarqué didierg, tous ceux qui ont eu ce problème ont une carte NVIDIA, en faite, c'est la raison pour laquelle j'avais demandé un lspci, j'avais aussi remarqué la ligne nouveau_drv_video.so. J'imagine que teutates a aussi le driver nouveau ?
  2. Moins probable, mais on est sûr que deux des quatres dont on sait qu'ils ont un problème ont le duo KDE+X.Org.

Merci rapy73, donc le problème est NVIDIA... Mais, maintenant, le plus durs, il va falloir localiser la mise à jour qui fout tout en l'air...

Il faut revenir à l'idée de didierg du début, quelqu'un sait quand VLC à commencer à merder exactement. (après quel mise à jour ?).

Vous pouvez trouvez votre historique des mises à jour DNF avec : sudo dnf history.
Dans mon cas je pense une de ces dates

En fonction des dates, peux-tu passer directement la commande 
# sudo dnf history info 140  | grep -i mesa
Si mesa-* a bien été mis à jour je tenterais 
# sudo dnf downgrade mesa-*
en vérifiant que seuls les rpm mesa-* sont downgradés.

Si après redémarrage vlc fonctionne c'est que c'était bien mesa-* le fautif et il te faudra attendre quelques jours pour qu'une nouvelle version soit disponible.

Si vlc ne fonctionne pas il faudra juste refaire la manip inverse pour remettre à niveau mesa-* et continuer à chercher 
# sudo dnf upgrade mesa-*
