Hello everyone,,,
It's been 4 years that I'm interested in free software and it may seem con but it is only today that I wonder the following.
I understand quite well now the principles of free software and the philosophy of the free in general but a thing ago intrigued me: I saw that the free directory of Framasoft listed the ProtonMail webmail . He indicates that he has a license so MIT free. In fact I just said to myself "But free it also concerns websites? ". I knew that some sites did not respect privacy and therefore did not respect the philosophy of free, and I understood that they could not be included in the "family of free". But I did not know that we included websites in this family either.

The principle of free software is that it can be modified and redistributed, I do not see how it is possible with a website. The principle of free is also to make public the source code but a website is written in HTML / PHP / JavaScript and apart for PHP we can see the code of each web page. Is fedora-fr.org considered a free website, for example, is it published under a free license?
Thank you for your explanations.
