après la joie, les pleurs ....
je présente la situation: suite aux précédents messages où tout allait à merveille pour l'installation du scanner Epson 3650, j'ai mis mon système à jour par " yum update ". Jusque là, tout se passe bien. Et oh ! surprise, le scanner ne fonctionne plus !
un " scanimage - L " donne ceci :

alors que "sane-find-scanner" me dit :

supposition : la mise à jour est-elle responsable de ce changement ?

Tu avais trouver une solution.
Les fichiers modifiés ont du être écrasé par la mise à jour du RPM les fournissant.
Il faut donc, sans doute, refaire la manipulation.

et oui, une mise a jour qui fou tout par terre.
Dans ton futur tuto, tu pourras dire attention au mise a jour et voici les fichiers a sauver 😉
Recommence la manip depuis le debut.
Le RPM a du ecraser les fichiers de conf.

rien à faire. J'ai refait toutes les manips, le scanner ne veut rien savoir. Si sane-find-scanner me donne Vendor et Product, scanimage -L ne donne rien du tout. Franchement c'est à n'y rien comprendre.
Même en root, marche pas. Comme si le scanner n'était pas du tout repéré.

demarre ton systeme sans le scan de branche et rebranche le pour voir.
Eventuellement change de port USB, on ne sait jamais, j au eu ca avec ma clef USB avec l avant dernier kernel, le sdax changeait a chaque fois avec le dernier kernel c est rentrer dans l ordre

Je vais essayer, au point où j'en suis. Mais je précise quand même qu'il s'agit une imprimante multifonction donc avec scanner et que l'imprimante, elle, fonctionne parfaitement.

j'ai testé. Démarrage de l'ordi sans la prise USB de l'imprimante-scanner. Evidemment, sane-find-scanner ne donne rien. Puis, je rebranche la prise ( sur une autre usb ), sane-find-scanner me donne les renseignements Product et Vendor. Par contre scanimage -L, toujours rien. Voila au moins une piste d'explorée.

tu pourrais regarde dans le fichier yum.log qui se trouve dans /var/log et faire une copie des infos, on aurait peut etre le nom du mechant qui t a pete ta config.

cela peut venir de la mise a jour du kernel ou de selinux.
Essaie de couper SELinux, on ne sait jamais
Je n ai pas d idee.
Au boulot j ai un 3200 Epson, si j ai un peu de temp, je vais regarder ca sur mon Shuttle avec FC4

j 'ai un scan epson 2450 usb
il arrive qu'il se bug et la plus rien a faire ni l eteindre ni le debrancher. meme rebooter ne change rien et le symptome est le meme que ce que tu décris.
je n'ai trouvé qu'une seule solution (merci de ne pas me frapper):
rebooter sous windows. Là, le scan se réninitialise normalement et je peux revenir scanner sous linux.
