Utiliser carte SIM avec Fedora

Bonjour,
L’ordinateur sur lequel j’utilise fedora (44), un Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3, contient un lecteur de carte nano SIM.
Je souhaiterais utiliser ma carte sim de téléphone pour transformer mon ordinateur en téléphone (càd envoyer des SMS et des appels téléphoniques).
Or malgré mes essais et mes recherches, je n’ai pas réussi à détecter la carte sim en l’insérant dans le lecteur.

Auriez-vous une idée de ce qu’il faudrait faire pour parvenir à mon but ? Est-ce possible au moins ?

PS: Sur le schéma, il s’agit du n°10 (Carte nano-SIM) et non du n°1 (Lecteur de carte à puce)

rikikou Je n’ai jamais eu d’expérience avec cette idée mais je dirais pour commencer de regarder du côté de NetworkManager-wwan dont le paquet est probablement déjà installé ainsi que modem-manager-gui présent dans le dépôt fedora pour les SMS.

Pour les appels je dirais calls qui est aussi dans le dépôt fedora .

Finalement après vérification, il semble que mon modèle ne possède pas de carte WWAN. Je referme le sujet avec un petit résumé :

Résumé

- Si la carte WWAN est présente :

Pour utiliser une carte SIM : modem-manager-gui (SMS) et calls ( Nicosss )

- Pour vérifier la présence d’un lecteur de carte SIM :

Au niveau du BIOS

xylphute vérifie dans Security -> I/O Port Access que Wireless WAN est configuré sur Enabled.

Au terminal, recherche d’informations avec :

On recherche une mention de WWAN

Ton PC ne semble pas avoir la carte WWAN attendue pour la carte SIM. En faisant quelque recherche, tous les chassis de la gamme de ton PC ont un tirroir pour la carte SIM, même s’il a été fait sans l’option SIM.

Es tu sûr que ton model a bel et bien le modem 4 G

Non je ne sais pas du tout, j’avais juste vu le tiroir et je pensais qu’il y avait le modem inclus. Il serait absent alors ?

En vérifiant sur le site de Lenovo, il semble y avoir une antenne WWAN (Dans l’onglet As built puis Select Commodity -> Antenna). Est-ce que cela signifie qu’il y a un modem ?

Le modèle est Lenovo P14s Gen 3 (Type 21AK, 21AL) Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 21AK (n° série : PF3X7LP7)

rikikou Rien ne ressort, c’est étrange.

Pourtant il existe bien https://github.com/lenovo/lenovo-wwan-unlock qui permet de déverrouiller le système pour pouvoir se connecter mais la détection devrait montrer quelque chose, sauf s’il faut avoir une SIM présente.

Le support Lenovo indique aussi https://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/solutions/HT510295 . Le module est peut-être HS ou non présent d’ailleurs.

Coucou tout le monde, je suis presque dans la même situation (Lenovo ThinkPad T480S 20L8SFHG00), j’attends la réponse avec impatience.

D’ailleurs (je vais peut-être passer pour le dernier des connards en venant avec ça mais tant pis), il y a l’option “Wide Band Mobile” dans le gestionnaire de réseaux (en ajoutant une nouvelle connexion manuellement), à quoi est-ce qu’elle corresponds, si pas à une connexion avec SIM?

Le mieux est de demander auprès du support Lenovo sur la présence ou non de ce module. Sinon faudrait l’ouvrir pour voir si l’emplacement est occupé.
