J'ai installé le kernel 2.6.12-1.1387_FC4 et le paquetage de driver livna. La carte video fonctionne (en tout cas il me lit les videos).

Le probleme est dans l'affichage a l'ecran.
Il m'affiche un ecran normal mais n'utilise pas tout l'ecran diponible.
Il n'utilise pas toute la hauteur disponible ni toute la largeur disponible, il ignore 25-30% de l'ecran, ce qui plutot facheux.

j'utilise un ecran LCD widescreen (1280x800) sur un ordinateur portable. Je pense que je doit modifier xorg.conf mais je n'en suis pas certain.

Il faut que tu renseignes (à priori) une model line correspondant à ton écran. Mais avec la FC4 tout a été automatique contrairement à la FC3.

ha, voila mon problème. maleureusement je suis un pas douer (pas encore!) et je ne sais aps ou trouver le fichier xorg. pourriez vous me dire ou il est? je le vois pas dans /etc.j'avous ne pas trop m'en sortir.j'avais l'impression qu'il ne detectais aps le mode 10:16 par ce qu'il ne reconnaissait aps le type d'écran... je me trompe?

le fichier xorg se trouve dans:

/etc/X11/

le fichier se nomme xorg.conf

Dans une console en root tu édites ton fichier xorg par la commande suivante:

vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Ensuite les commandes de bases de l'éditeur de texte Vi sont:

i pour insérer du texte
La touche ESCAPE pour sortir du mode édition
:w pour sauver tes modifications
:q pour quitter l(éditeur et revenir à la console

et tu peux combiner, par exemple

:wq
voila, j'ai onfiguré le fihier, mais apparement, il y a qqch de pas bon par ce que je ne peux toujours pas modifier la définition de l'ecran.

Actuellement ton écran est configuré avec une dimension de 1440x900.

curieusement je me suis aperçu que je n'avais plus de model line avec ma FC4....Avant la FC4 c'était la galère de régler les écrans 1280x800, maintenant c'est très simple. Donc je pense que tu n'es plus très loin de la solution.
