Bonjour,

j'ai un petit problème pas très grave mais énervant :

mon bureau ne s'affiche plus entièrement; les icônes du bas du bureau se retrouvent hors écran.

Le seul moyen de tout avoir est d'activer auto-hide menu mais c'est une option assez fatigante à la longue.

Si quelqu'un sait de quoi il en retourne...

C'est venu dès l'installation ou depuis une mise à jour? Installer le driver de la carte graphique si ce n'est pas déjà fais.

en fait je crois que je viens d'avoir la réponse par hasard :

j'ai un écran télé connecté au pc avec une résolution plus grande et je ne sais pas pourquoi quand je lance le pc, il se connecte automatiquement en twinview en me mettant l'autre écran en absolu.

Je suppose que je dois changer cela en root.

je pense que le problème est bien là sauf que les changements que j'apporte ne sont pas pris en compte.

Y-a-t-il une autre commande que nvidia-settings en root ?

pas forcément en root, certains réglages avec nvidia-settings sont bon pour l'utilisateur courant.

oui mais ce réglage-là, c-à-d :

démarrer avec le deuxième écran éteint et pas de twinview, ne fonctionne ni en root ni en simple user avec nvidia-settings.

et tu es sûr d'utiliser le pilote nvidia? (lsmod|grep nvidia) Parce que par défaut le twinview ne s'active pas tout seul.

J'utilise kmod.

De plus, nvidia-settings fonctionne pour presque tout, sauf pour désactiver twinview.

Etrange ça, il y a peut être des messages d'erreurs dans /var/log/Xorg.0.log ou dans ~/.xsession-errors

Tu dois aussi avoir un .nvidia-settings-rc dans ton home, essaye de le deplacer pour voir si yaurait pas un soucis avec ce dernier. C'est normalement dans ce fichier que les paramètres nvidia définit avec nvidia-settings sont sauvegardés.

Je viens de déplacer le fichier en question mais ça ne change rien.

Et je n'ai pas de messages d'erreur dans le xsession-errors, en tous cas en ce qui concerne mon problème.

Les modifications faites dans nvidia-settings ne sont-elles pas enregistrées dans "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" ?

pas toutes, mais c'est vrai maintenant que tu le dis, que concernant le twinview c'est bien stocké dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf (j'ai du twinview qu'au boulot donc pour vérifier...). Si tu veux forcer la désactivation du twinview, t'as une ligne normalement Option "TwinView" "1" tu change le 1 en 0. Tu relances X et normalement le Twinview doit être désactivé.

C'était presque trop beau. J'avais déjà regardé mais j'ai revérifié et il n'y a pas d'option twinview.

est a ajouter dans la section Screen du xorg.conf si tu veux tester directement.

Je viens d'ajouter la ligne et pas de changement.

Juste pour rappel, quand je mets auto-hide menu, mon bureau s'affiche en entier.

Bien sûr, ça ne résout pas le problème du twinview mystère.

Désolé de revenir à la charge mais mon problème devient de plus en plus gênant :

chaque dossier ajouté n'est plus visible car hors du champs de l'écran et toujours ce foutu twinview activé par défaut.
