D'après ton xorg.conf, celui-ci a été créé aussi par livna-config-display.
Essaie de le modifier et de re-démarrer puis fais
ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.conf
who -b
pour voir s'il a été modifié par le boot.

Essaie avec d'autres fréquences. La ligne «ModeLine» est donnée par la commande
gtf 1280 1024 <frq>Essaie 50Hz par exemple.
P.S. : ne pas oublié d'ajouter le nom du mode dans la subsection Display.
Tu peux aussi indiquer les plages de fréquences de ton écran dans la section Monitor. Exemple :

J'ai ajouté un Modeline et j'ai le xorg.conf suivant.
Et puis 1024x768 reste la résolution par défaut.
