Je me suis monté un PC avec une carte mère INTEL DP45SG.
Cette carte n'étant pas équipée d'un port parallèle, j'ai alors ajouté une carte PCI-e pour avoir un port parallèle et ainsi pouvoir connecter mon imprimante.
Pour configurer l'imprimante j'ai fait: SYSTEME>ADMINISTRATION>IMPRESSION puis NOUVEAU.
S'ouvre alors la fenêtre de selection de périphérique mais je trouve pas de port parallèle à sélectionner !

Il me semble que le port parallèle est bien présent!
Comment en être certain?
Comment faire pour avoir le port parallèle dans la fenêtre de sélection de périphérique?

Peux-tu faire :
lspci -v -s 03:00.2
pour avoir plus de détail sur la carte et son driver.

Autre question bête :
Est-ce que ton imprimante est bien branchée en parallèle et sous tension lors du boot ?
L'imprimante n'était pas connectée, je l'ai fait mis sous tension et rebooté le PC mais rien n'a évolué.

La carte ne posède aucun switch ou bien jumper de configuration...
Peux-tu essayer de booter avec la ou les options
noapic
acpi=off
Il faut ajouter ces options au moment du boot (menu grub).
Normalement ce menu apparait avec une liste des différents noyaux (kernel) fedora (et autres ...) .
Si ce menu apparait pendant une certaine durée (cinq secondes?) tu peux utiliser la touche <e> (sans validation) pour intervenir et ajouter des options.
Si ce menu n'apparait pas c'est que la durée est paramétrée au minimum et il te faut utiliser la touche <ESC> pour interrompre le démarrage automatique et cela avant que le boot ne démarre.

Pour ajouter une/des options il suffit de se positionner sur une ligne de boot
Puis utiliser la touche <e> sur la première ligne .
Ceci doit afficher les trois lignes définissant un boot.
Se positionner sur la ligne «kernel ........»
Utiliser la touche <e>
Se positionner en fin de ligne pour ajouter
noapic
acpi=off

Comme le clavier est par défaut un qwerty tu devra saisir
noqpic
qcpi=off

Valider par la touche <entrée>
Puis utiliser la touche <b> pour booter avec les options spécifiées.

Si cela améliore la détection de la carte, on pourra modifier grub pour prise en compte permanente des options.
J'ai ajouté à la fin de la ligne du kernel noapic acpi=off
puis <entrée> puis <b>
