J'ai fait un chmod -R 777 /tmp et depuis
j'ai un message d'erreur au démarrage de gnome
"Le contact du serveur de configuration a échoué ; causes possibles:vous n'avez pas activez le réseau tcp/ip pour ORBit ou des verrous nfs non valides existent suite a un blocage du système. (Détails1: Le fichier IOR "/tmp/gconldMonuser/lock/ior" n'a pas été ouvert ac succès, aucun gconld localisé: aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type
ce qui fait que je ne peux réutiliser ma machine
j'ai réussi à extraire le fichier dmesg (/var/log/dmesg) et je vous affiche son contenu

PS : Je suis sous vista (à défaut) sauvez moi de cette mocheté ambulante (non je n'ai rien dit 😉)
Pourquoi :
chmod -R 777 /tmp
Pourquoi pas
rm -rf /tmp

De toute façon 777 n'a de sens que pour de répertoires ou des fichiers exécutables et encore il faut voir les conséquences (failles de sécurité, ...) .
Des pipes nommés, ou des sockets en 777 n'ont aucun sens ! ! ! !

Il faut bien voir que le répertoire /tmp ne t'appartient pas mais appartient plutôt au système. Si tu veux un espace temporaire, crée un /home/xxx/tmp ou autre.


Pour essayer de réparer :

Quelle politique de sauvegarde as-tu ?

Essaie de booter en init 1 : pour voir si le fait d'avoir cassé /tmp est important ou non pour init 1.

Déjà /tmp a un sticky bit utilisateur que tu as écrasé et qu'il faut rétablir .
chmod 1777 /tmp

Ensuite
rm -rf /tmp/*

Puis un reboot normal pour voir.

P.S. : Pour poster des traces volumineuse utilises les balise codes accessibles avec le bouton '<>' dans la barre principale de la saisie d'un post.

P.S..1 : Avec une installation virtuelle, J'ai essayé ta manipulation chmod -R 777 /tmp, mais je n'ai pas obtenu de problème. Même si ce n'est absolument pas correct, j'arrive à démarrer une session graphique.
Par contre j'ai essayé d'effacer complètement /tmp et là j'ai énormément de problèmes.
Un boot en init 1 le système crée un répertoire /tmp mais en 755 pour root:root.
J'ai donc fait
chmod 1777 /tmp
reboot

je ne sais pas dans quel état est ton /tmp, n'aurauis tu pas fait aussi un chown dessus ?

Certaines fonctionnalités, comme les thèmes, les sons ou les fonds d'écran peuvent ne pas fonctionner correctement.

Le dernier message d'erreur était :

GNOME essaiera de redémarrer le démon des préférences la prochaine fois que vous vous connecterez.
et aussi pour rentrer dans une console je dois taper Ctrl+C pour avoir le prompt
