Bonjour tout le monde,

Mon problème est que je n'arrive pas à installer les pilotes de ma carte graphique.
Quand j'essai (en suivant les étapes du tuto : http://doc.fedora-fr.org/wiki/Carte_graphique_ATI_:_installation_du_pilote_propri%C3%A9taire), j'ai une erreur au redémarrage qui me dit quelque chose du style : "Impossible de démarrer le serveur X" et j'ai ensuite un rapport d'erreur assez long.

Les caractéristiques :
- Système : Fedora 8
- Carte : ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY

Je ne sais pas si ça joue mais j'utilise un laptop.
Tout marche à part cela mais comme mon pc n'est pas une flêche, le fait de ne pas avoir les pilotes installés me ralentis pas mal.

Je ne sais pas si c'est un problème classique en tout cas je n'ai pas trouvé la solution en regardant sur le forum.
Si il manque des infos demandez moi mais dites moi aussi comment les obtenir (genre le rapport d'erreur que j'ai au redémarrage, je ne sais pas comment le récupérer).

Il utilise le driver radeon, il peut pas utiliser le kmod fglrx.

Son problème est que Xorg refuse de se lancer.
Je vais essayer d'être plus précis :

- J'ai installé le pilote.

- Quand je démarre, juste avant l'authentification j'ai un écran bleu avec le message :
"Le démarrage du serveur X a échoué. Il est probable qu'il ne soit pas configuré correctement.
Voulez-vous consulter les messages du serveur X pour déterminer le problème ?".

- Si je met "oui", il me met un message d'erreur et après il me demande si je veux voire un autre message d'erreur.

- Ensuite il me demande : "Voulez-vous tenter de configurer le serveur X ?"
Là je met mon mdp root et je le configure (je choisis la résolution mais quoi que je choisisse j'ai toujours du 1024x768).

Après ça je peux me connecter avec une session normalement.

Quand je parle de ralentissements c'est genre 3 secondes pour lancer firefox ou 5 secondes pour lancer le Knetwalk (application vitale :p).
Sachant que sous windows ça se lance presque instantanément, je pense qu'on peut dire qu'il y a un soucis et que vu les messages d'erreur, il doit venir des pilotes.

Je ne suis pas sur mais avant qu'il me demande de reconfigurer le serveur X, il me dit qu'il a enregistré mon ancienne configuration dans un fichier xorg.conf.backup. Peut être que ces deux fameux messages d'erreur se trouvent dedans.

Si vous pensez que c'est le cas, je le posterais ce soir (je ne suis pas chez moi pour l'instant).

Si tu as des messages d'erreur qui te proposent de configurer le serveur, alors ne le fais pas. Reste en mode texte et va recopier fichier log dans /tmp par ex:

# cd /var/log
# cp ./Xorg.0.log /tmp

car s'il y a des erreurs, elles y sont, mais lorsque tu reconfigures, ce fichier est renommé et donc tu cherches dans un nouveau fichier Xorg.0.log qui lui ne comporte pas d'erreur.

Pour ce qui concerne l'existence d'un fichier xorg.conf.backup , tu vas toi même regarder:

ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.*
Ok j'irais ce soir copier le fichier sans reconfigurer le serveur.

Pour ce qui est du fichier .backup, j'en parlais juste pour savoir si ça vous serait utile, je ne tiens pas plus que ça à le voir ^^.

Tu peux peut-être essayer de configurer au mieux ton pilote radeon vu qu'il marche.

Y a un bug a l'installation avec certaine carte ati radeon
avec le drm_edid qui doit retourner une valeur entre 0 et 3
et donc qui empéche de dépasser le 800x600
Y'a des patchs, je suis entrain d'essayer plusieurs solutions.

Tu peux configurer la taille de la police sans avoir besoin de toucher à la résolution, dans les applications style OpenOffice il te suffit de faire un zoom!
