Ralink Rt 2500

Bonjour,

J'ai un ami qui essaye d'installer sa Ralink rt2500, je lui ai donc donné le wiki de kwizart. Il a essayé d'installer les drivers spécifiques mais voici la réponses :

Error: Missing Dependency: rt2500-kmod-common >= 1.1.0.cvs20070314 is needed by package kmod-rt2500

Son kernel est 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6 en i686.

Je lui ai donc dit d'installer les drivers complet (rt2x00), donc il l'a fait ca se passe bien. On arrive au point 4.1 du wiki, c'est une carte pci, donc on fait

touch /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ra0

ensuite dans ce fichier on met :

DEVICE=ra0

On fait ensuite

service network restart

Résultat :

Activation de l'interface ra0 : Le périphérique ra0 n'étant pas présent, son initialisation sera retardée. [ÉCHOUÉ]

Voilà, vu que j'ai une Intel 3945ABG et que l'install est toute simple je sais pas trop quoi lui conseiller, donc kwizart (ou d'autre) si tu comprends d'où vient le probleme, merci de nous donner un coup d'pouces 😉

il n'y a pas de kmod-rt2500 pour 26.20-1.2933.fc6 pour des raisons de compatibilité du code avec le smp pour un kernel > 2.6.18

donc tu as bien voulu installé le rt2500 et non le rt2x00! Ou alors j'ai pas compris...

donc le script que tu as fait était pour le rt2500 pas pour le rt2x00
Vérifies que le rt2500 est bien desinstallé... (rpm -e rt2500 kmod-rt2500 )
que le /etc/modprobe.d/rt2500 est bien desinstallé (retires le rpmsave le cas échéant)

Utilises wlan0 de préférence pour le script ifcfg-wlan0

le rpm -e me confirme que les packages n'était pas installé et pas de trace du module, normal.

Ensuite, on a essayé avec wlan0 et en fait, on a quasi le même message d'erreur :

Ce qui est bizarre, ce que quand il va fdans system-config-network et qu'il veut ajouter une connexion sans fil, sa carte n'apparait pas...

Oublies system-config-network le rt2x00 n'est pas sensé être compatible...
Quel est le contenu de ton fichier ifcfg-wlan0 (même que précédemment ?)
Que donnes :
dmesg |grep rt (voir le dmesg entier pour avoir les lignes intermédiares qui ne contiennent pas rt)
ifconfig -a

Il est nécéssaire d'utiliser la configuration manuelle avec ce module. Le plus simple c'est d'éviter de de lancer au démarrage...(voir ifcfg-wlan0)
Si il utilises le cryptage wpa il peut être délicat de l'utiliser (prends toujours la version patchée de wpa_supplicant sur mon site)

Voici un protocole de test (utilise seulement à des fins de comparaison avec une version fonctionnelle de rt2500 pour le rt2x00 )

A signaler qu'il a également du enlever le fichier ifcg-wlan0 sinon son démarrage plantait au démarrage de l'interface wlan0.

C'est pour cela qu'il en faut un mais qui ne démarre pas l'interface au chargement...(ifcfg-wlan0)
Là il faut faire une configuration manuelle comme décrite dans la doc sur Ralink:

Bon j'ai recommencé les manip. J'ai installe rt2x00, oki.
Pour les alias j'ai rajouté :

alias wlan0 rt2500pci
alias wmaster0 rt2500pci

et j'ai sauvé. Ensuite, quand on fait

service network restart

ben ca donne :

Que donnes iwlist scan en particulier (une fois l'interface up)

Le principe de l'installation manuelle c'est que tu dois faire la configuration interface démonté, puis la monter ensuite...

C'est re mouaaaaaaaa

en fait, mon pote vient d'installer FC7 test 3 et apparemment sa carte wifi est reconnue niquel, le module est deja lancé et tout, mais NetworkManager ne lui détecte pas son wifi et quand il ajouter manuellement l'essid, il essaye de se connecter longuement et puis retombe sur le réseau cablé.

Le iwlist scan lui donne principalement

wmaster0  Interface doesn't support scanning : Operation not supported
wlan0     No scan results

Je soupconne sa carte de ne pas être activée au démarrage, mais comment faire pour l'activer ?
