Sous FC6, PB de montage de disques Raid 1 NTFS.

Bonjour.. SI quelqu'un a une idée ... Merci..😉
J'ai déjà fait un post sur le sujet, mais je ne le retrouve pas.... sorry.. il n'était pas résolut.. (et je n'ai pas trouvé de solution dans les autres posts que j'ai lu?..)

Pour mémoire, j'ai 4DD ... 2 en IDE dont 1 pour XP et 1 pour FC
Ainsi que 2 en raid1 et en NTFS sur contrôleur promise SATA
.
Depuis que j'ai installé FC6, impossible de les monter (les 2 SATA) ... au début je me disais que je m.. ou que le Kernel n'était pas au top.
Mais nous ne sommes au 2.6.19-1.2895 et toujours rien ? est-ce FC qui bug ou moi ???

J'ai même essayé avec ntfs3g et rien.. impossible de monter ces 2 disques.
Le but était simplement, pour l'instant de lire les fichiers, par encore d'y écrire sur ces disques.
Le Raid1 est géré par le contrôleur promise. pour XP
Je ne sais pas ce que çà donnerait de faire une partition NTSF et une Ext3; le tout en raid1 !! ou encore utiliser ntfs3g en écriture sur du "raid1 Win" ?? probablement dangereux..

D'ailleurs est-ce seulement possible ? (de les monter en raid ntfs sous linux)
Pour activer le raid sous linux ne faudrait-il pas activer qqs chose genre md ? ( md.... ce n'est que du raid logiciel?)
Enfin bref..🙂 j'aimerai bien monter au moins 1 des 2 disques pour y lire les fichiers dont j'ai besoin..

J'ai testé divers trucs comme
Raid sous XP aucun PB
CD Live de Gparted pas de PB il reconnait les disques (et les monte sans PB )
Donc disques et contrôleur OK

Pour mémoire, j'ai 4DD ... 2 en IDE dont 1 pour XP et 1 pour FC
Ainsi que 2 en raid1 et en NTFS sur contrôleur promise SATA
[...].
J'ai même essayé avec ntfs3g et rien.. impossible de monter ces 2 disques.
Le but était simplement, pour l'instant de lire les fichiers, par encore d'y écrire sur ces disques.
Le Raid1 est géré par le contrôleur promise. pour XP

Malheureusement, pour pouvoir utiliser le RAID matériel de ton controlleur, il te faut installer le pilote raid (qui est propriétaire) de ta carte controlleur Promise.
Avec un peu de chance regarde sur le site du constructeur s'ils fournissent le pilote (pré-compilé) pour la version de ton kernel installé.

Le pilote que tu utilise pour ta carte en ce moment est le pilote "sata_promise" (qui est libre et ne gère pas la partie RAID de la carte)

Je ne sais pas ce que çà donnerait de faire une partition NTSF et une Ext3; le tout en raid1 !! ou encore utiliser ntfs3g en écriture sur du "raid1 Win" ?? probablement dangereux..

Depuis un RAID logiciel, je ne serais te répondre, j'amais testé mais, ça méttonerais que mdraid gère c'la.

Pour activer le raid sous linux ne faudrait-il pas activer qqs chose genre md ? ( md.... ce n'est que du raid logiciel?)

Oui...mdraid c'est pour mettre en place du raid logiciel, cela équivaut à dire a dieu à tes raid matériel précédemment créés.

Enfin bref..smile j'aimerai bien monter au moins 1 des 2 disques pour y lire les fichiers dont j'ai besoin..

Il faudra casser ton RAID matériel pour cela.

Comme ces infos te l'indique, tes disque sont ne sont pas en RAID, si tu était en RAID tu aurais quelque chose comme : "type: RAID+5 array" et non "type: Direct-Acces" (pas besoin de te traduite ce que cela signifie 😉)

Merci pour tes explications .. en fait je demande peut-être l'impossible..

ce que je retient de ce que tu dis.

Bin si .. c'est même du raid matériel, du raid 1 programmé depuis l'interface (bios) de promise. Les 2 DD sont en miroir et formatés NTFS
Sous XP pas de PB.. XP ne voir qu'un disque de 250 Go.

Donc FEDORA ne les reconnait pas bien. Pour moi c'est un bug ce truc..des drivers Libre promise ? (ou je dois obligatoirement installer les drivers proprio promise.?)

SI FC est capable aujourd'hui d'écrire sur du ntfs (via kmod ntfs ou ntfs3g) Elle devrait être capable à minima de reconnaitre ces disques et de les monter. on revient à la remarque juste avant.

Mais aujourd'hui je ne veux pas y écrire ( sauf si je pouvais en mettre la moitier en ntfs et l'autre en ext3 par exemple en créant deux partitions.) je veux juste que çà se monte ....pour y lire.

Sous FC5 çà marchait.. enfin .. ce n'était pas du raid.. les 2 disques étaient reconnu séparément comme sda1 et sdb1. Je pouvais les monter l'un ou l'autre sans PB
Je pense que c'est un PB dans le mode de traitement des ces disques dans le kernel. Sous FC5 il m'était arrivé, une fois suite à mise à jour du kernel, de ne plus pouvoir les monter (comme maintenant). c'etait redevenu normal au kernel suivant. Parfois le nom des disques changeait selon comment le pb était traité dans le Kernel sda1 était devenu sd0 ou qq chose dur genre)

Sous SC6 ce que je constate, c'est que le même disque à plusieurs /dev/ mais pas un qui soit correct et qui se monte comme:

un boot sous kanoppy live cd et tout est OK mes dd raid ce montent comme un seul homme heu un seul disk normal c est du raid et en ntfs

Tu utilise le controller tx4310 ?

Si oui comment as-tu fait pour pouvoir booter ton système après l'ajout du controlleur ? Moi il me décalle mes disques déjà présent et il devient impossible de booter car grub est naturellement introuvable sur les nouveaux disques fraîchement ajoutés.

Y a-t-il un moyen simple de pouvoir activer les disques du controleur sans que grub se mélange les pinceaux ? (sur une rhel4)

J'ai eu exactement le même problème : partitions detectées, listées par "fdisk -l", mais la même erreur "dev/sdb1 is not a valid block device" lors de l'essai de montage.

J'ai soupconné les pilote x64, et j'ai tenté l'installation de FC6 en i386 : lors de l'installation, dans les deux cas seul mon premier disque est vu correctement. J'ai essayer de brancher mes sdb et sdc sur les ports SATA du controlleur raid, même problème.

Je précise que j'avais installé FC4 sans problème sur cette même configuration et que tu fonctionnait à l'époque ; actuellement, je tourne avec une Gentoo qui fonctionne comme un charme (depuis deux ans). Je pensais migrer vers FC6 mais ce bug m'en empêche définitivement.

Dernier espoir, hier j'ai démarré ma machine avec le live CD FC7 Test 2 (Fedora 6.91), et les dsque sont montables sans problème.

Je n'ai pas encore essayé de recompiler un noyau, et je ne sais pas si je vais le faire (je quitte gentoo pour éviter les compilations inutiles).

(au fait j'ai raconté ma vie, mais est-ce que ce problème interesse encore les différents protagonistes ?)

Oui c'est le plus simple après tous les tests que j'ai effectués.

Dommage que nous n'arrivions pas à cerner ce bug précisement pour faire un rapport.

Refuznik ça vient de l'Amstrad ? (je me rappelle d'un programme à taper dans les pages d'un magasine en... 1989)

Ben .. pas chez moi..... toujours impossible de monter soit un disque sda ou sda1 (idem avec sdb)

Pour info sup si je lance GParted.. pour ces 2 disques je vois:
/dev/md0/ 0,00 o
/dev/sda/ 233,76 Gio
/dev/sdb/ 233,76 Gio

Si je clique sur md0 Gparted me donne une partition non allouée de 512 Gio (somme des 2 disques)
si je clique sur /dev/sda/ Gparted me donne bien une partition ntfs.. /dev/sda1/ mais avec un beau triangle rouge
Un clic droit/information sur le triangle me dits partoche non montée (c'est sur) et un message erreur opening Partition device no such device or address Failed to starup volume etc....

Je ne connais pas assez les entrailles de la machine et de FC pour dépister le bug.. si vous voulez des infos demandez moi des manip...

Actuellement
- sous FC6 et avec le dernier Kernel 2.6.20 pas de montage possible ni d'un seul disque en montage classique.. ni d'un seul disque virtuel composé des 2 disques en Raid 1
- Sous Kanoppix.. çà ce monte tout seul et en Raid 1 avec du NTFS plein cadre sur les 2 disques... (un seul disque visible et monté auto.)

dernier point je suis maintenant sous nfs3g donc dans mon fstab y a des trucs comme çà pour monter les disques ntfs..
