Je voulais savoir si quelqu'un a installé les drivers ATI pour avoir l'accélération 3D.
Je voudrais bien savoir avant de passer à la FC6.:-D

J'ai pas réussi à les installer. Ni la création de .rpm ni l'install automatique n'ont fonctionné chez moi
Moi j'installais FC5 avec vesa mais pour la 6 j'ai installé sans options et j'ai les pilotes ati radeon (pas officiels) mais ca marche j'ai meme mis beryl et nickel , j'ai juste un soucis avec ma ipw2200 (voir topic ipw2200 "existe pas")

Personnellement, j'ai installé les drivers de livna (kmod-fglrx) et puis fait les petites manipulations d'usage 😉

Mais je me suis retrouvé comme il y a 6 mois lorsque j'ai installé FC5 et les drivers Fglrx...

C'est-à-dire : plus de bordure de fenetre dans Gnome...
Ce qui me gene un poil 😉
Donc j'ai retiré les modules fglrx et ai rechargé les radeon, remis mon xorg.conf de départ...
Donc me revoilà avec les radeon... qui fonctionnent, je dois le reconnaitre, TRES BIEN!
Mais bon... J'aimerais pouvoir installer les drivers fglrx 🙁 (c'est ca de toujours vouloir plus!)

Ca inspire quelqu'un ce probleme?
Le driver Radeon tourne nickel avec un X700Se, et Beryl tourne aussi parfaitement ! (c'est la seule distro sur laquel j'ai la 3d avec ma carte !)

Je n'avais également pas d'acceleration, la manip de lt_tommy a fonctionné, meci 😉

Par contre, impossible d'activer les "Desktop effects". En lanssant la commande desktop-effects, puis en cliquant sur "Enable Desktop Effects", un message me dis qu'iln ne peut pas les activer, et j'ai ca dans la console :

compiz: No composite extension
Xlib: extension "SHAPE" missing on display ":0.0".

L'option dans le xorg empeche compiz de fonctionner, ou bien ma carte (ati radeon 9600) est elle incompatible avec aiglx ? (compiz fonctionnait avec xgl sous fc5)
@lt_tommy : quand tu dis la 3D tu entend les drivers fglrx de chez Livna?

Le composite disabled, ca fait quoi précisément?
(vu que j'utilise pas trop la 3D pour le moment, et que ca me fait marrer les effets du bureau, si ca les désactive j'attend une autre version 😉 ) lollll
Oui, l'acceleration fglrx.
Normal qu' apres aiglx ne fonctionne plus car il a besoin de composite. Il faut choisir , la 3d ou bien aiglx.

Et puis les drivers ATI n'aiment pas composite donc en désactivant composite, on a la 3d
Perso je voulais compiler les rpm depuis les drivers officiels ATI mais rien a faire. J'ai donc installé les drivers livna. Il me semble bien avoir de l'acceleration 3D puisque tous les effets de fenetres fonctionnent avec AIGXL. Cependant, le panneau de conf ATI-FGLRX ne fonctionne pas. Je ne peu rien changer et pourtant, j'aimerai mettre une resolution plus grande mais impossible... Je retente ce soir je vous tiendrais au courant si ya du mieux.

En attendant si vous avez des idées...
@KaBooFa: Pour changer la résolution, va dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf et normalement là-bas, tu trouvera une ligne avec des résolutions... Mets celle que tu désire en premiere et relance le serveur X.
Un conseil, fait une copie de ton xorg.conf si tu est comme quoi et que tu aime pas bidouiller les fichiers texte en console 😉

Bon ok, donc je remet Composite a enable; mais toujours pas moyen de faire fonctionner les Desktop-effects, voila le message:

D'après ce que j'ai lu, les drivers d'ati (ceux d'ati ou ceux de livna) sont incompatible avec AIGLX. Il est prévu qu'il le seront à partir de la version 9 (on en est à la 8.29).
Le problème est que quand AIGLX n'arrive pas à charger les drivers fglrx, ben il passe en software rendering (cf le /var/log/Xorg.0.conf d'une machine concernée), donc pas de DirectRendering

Donc si votre carte est pris en charge par les drivers radeon ("man radeon" pour le savoir) utilisez radeon et enjoye AIGLX.

Sinon vous désactivez AIGLX en rajoutant ceci à /etc/X11/xorg.conf

J'ai la même carte que toi et avec l'installation de base de FC6 (driver radeon), AIGLX fonctionne sous Gnome mais pas sous KDE.

@cocaaladioxine: Merci pour l'astuce de la résolution mais je pense que je vais etre limité par les possibilité de la carte tant qu'elle ne sera pas correctement configurée.
XGL et AIGLX servent à avoir un serveurX accélerer matériellement. Jusqu'a maintenant, Xorg tournait en 2D, mais avec AIGLX(XGL) tous ce que tu vois (verrais) serait de l'OpenGL, donc accéléré par le GPU.

XGL et AIGLX sont deux projets différents (sans être concurrent, de plus ils s'échangent du code). Si je me trompe pas XGL est developpé par NOVEL et c'est une réécriture de Xorg. AIGLX est développé par RedHat et c'est une extension au Xorg actuel.

Compiz, beryl sont des gestionnaires de fenêtres,(comme metacity) c'est eux qui vont faire de jolis effets en utilisant la 3D proposée par AIGLX(XGL).

Le mieux c'est d'aller voir Wikipedia...

Moi j'ai installé le driver livna-fglrx, je fonctionne avec "Driver = fglrx" mais toujours pas de DRI, et le fglrxgears donne un chiffre à pleurer... je me demande vraiment si j'ai bien fait de dépenser autant de sous pour une carte ATI 1600, j'en fais quoi des 512 Mo DDR2 ?
256 Mo qui servent à rien 😉 même sous minedos 😉

Ensuite il faut croire qu'il vas falloir attendre les prochains pilotes ati, car quoi qu'ont fassent le dri marche pas!
En désactivant, AIGLX, dri marche chez moi.
Par contre il se peut qu'il cherche les lib dri au mauvais endroit (ça m'est arrivé). Vérifiez votre Xorg.0.Log
Voila ce que j'ai lorsque je rentre dans le panneau ATI-fglrx. Juste les pilotes de livna sont installés

Que te donne ton fichier de log? (/var/log/Xorg.0.log recherches les lignes començant par (EE) )
Pas de ligne en erreur qui commence par (EE)

Et il prend les libGL pour mesa et pas fglrx!
Je sais pas exatement les commandes intéressante. Après avoir mis le noyau pour i686, j'ai réinstaller kmod-fglrx suivit d'un "ati-fglrx-config-display enable" et d'un "aticonfig --initial". Il m'a créer le xorg.conf suivant (j'ai juste rajouté la section ServerFlags)

C'est un xorg.conf minimaliste, mais il a le mérite de focntionner chez moi 🙂
En tous cas fglrx_dri.so est dans /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri . Peut être en faisant un lien symbolique?

Bon je reviens vous embeter avec mes problèmes ! Jai enlever les drivers fglrx et remis les radeon à la place.

Moi pareil, j'ai deux cartes récentes ATI:
une X1600 pro sur le tower
une X1300 pro sur le laptop

aucune des deux n'est reconnue par le driver fglrx téléchargé sur livna, d'apres le log

@Anvil si tu lis, ATI indique que ces deux cartes sont bien supportées par le driver, comment c'est possible ?

pour le forcer à utilisé X11 au lieu de XV!
je suis passé aussi par system>préférences>préferences supplémentaires> selecteur de system multimedia >onglet video > sortie>Xwindows system (no XV)
mais le résultat reste identique
