Bonjour,
j'ai recemment installé une linux suse 10.1.
J'ai également installé pour ma carte wifi le pilote madwifi propriétaires ce qui n'a posé aucun problème.
Je souhaite à présent installer la carte wifi sur Fedora 5 mais malheureusement il y a probléme.
En effet, cette carte wifi est associée au module Ethernet, impossible de l'associée au module sans fil.
j'ai tout essayer les pilotes Livna et ATrpms mais rien n'y fait
Voilà en espérant recevoir de l'aide je vous remercie d'avance.

Ou as tu trouvé des pilotes madwifi atrpms??? et le module propriétaire???
Qu'est ce que tu appelles "associé au module ethernet"?

Bonsoir,
Le probléme est que la carte est reconu en tant que carte ethernet et non wifi.
Ma machine est un Portable HP NC8000 avec carte wifi Atheros mini PCI.
J'aimerais qu'on voit les copies d'écran mais je ne sais pas comment faire depuis le forum.
(Je n'ais pas eu le même problème avec les version précedente de fedora)

non, ca parait OK...c'est bien du 801.11 abg donc du wifi...
Il te faut installer le module madwifi.
# yum install kmod-madwifi

Voici ce que je vois dans system-config-network
Sélectionnez un périphérique Ethernet
Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5705M_2 Gigabit Ethernet (eth0)
Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC (wifi0)

Ton périphérique wifi est sensé être ath0 . En fait il y a deux interfaces associées pour le madwifi ( ath[0-?] et wifi0 . Wifi0 est l'interface "maitre" à partir de laquelle tu vas créer des interfaces wifi ath0 peut être en mode Managed alors que tu peux créer ath1 pour être en mode monitor...
Vérifies si tu as une interface ath0 avec ifconfig -a
Ceux qui ont les "extensions sans fil" apparaissent avec un iwconfig
Si tu n'en as pas il va falloir créer un alias mais normalement, il existe par default.
Tu peux aussi gérer le wifi automatiquement avec NetworkManager:
su -
service NetworkManager start
service NetworkManagerDispatcher start
Cela marche tres bien avec un chipset atheros (pour moi en tout cas!)
