Tout le système saccade !

Bonjour,

Voilà quelques jours, j'avais créé un topic signalant que le déroulement d'animations flash saccadait, ce qui rendait le jeu en ligne assez pénible, voire impossible.

Parmi les solutions qu'on m'a gentiment proposées, aucune ne m'avait malheureusement permis de résoudre le soucis.

En fait, j'ai eu un choc en voyant tout à l'heure mon PC qui était passé en mode écran de veille durant une absence un peu prolongée : une animation se déroulait à l'écran (Pac-Man)... et elle saccadait aussi (un ralentissement toutes les 2 ou 3 secondes) !

Est-ce un problème général lié à linux qui répartirait mal les cycles de calcul ?

Ma configuration est la Fedora Core 5, mise à jour avec Yumex (je n'ai plus les drivers NVidia depuis qu'une mise à jour du kernel m'a été proposée et que je l'ai acceptée), sous Kubuntu.

Proc : AMD 1800, 768 Mo de Ram, Carte graphique 32 Mo

Hello,

J'ai exactement le même problème. Depuis que je suis passé du noyau 2.6.16-1.2052 au noyau .2080 j'ai une erreur de chargement des drivers nvidia et le processus xorg prend 100% des ressources systèmes.

Je cherche à repasser sur le noyau précédant en attendant une mise à jour des drivers. Y'a-t-il moyen de configurer GRUB pour charger le noyau précédant ?

Dans un premier temps, fais le teste en changeant ton noyau sur la page principale de grub.
(Tu appuies sur une touche et tu auras accès au menu)

Si le test est concluant, et que tu veux avoir ton ancien kernel en noyau par défaut, tu édites /etc/grub.conf et ty as la ligne :
default=x
Tu remplaces default par "théoriquement" x-1. (cela dépend de ton grub.conf)

Je ne sais pas ce qu'il en était pour l'ensemble du système avant ma mise à jour de kernel, mais des saccades étaient déjà présentes, au moins sous flash.

Je trouve ça génial que plusieurs personnes se penchent sur ce problème, qui est peut-être plus important en fait qu'il n'y parrait au premier abord.

déjà, commente la ligne "hiddenmenu" avec un # devant, dans grub.conf, tu verras ainsi ce que tu as dispo c'est plus pratique quand meme !

J'ai commenté cette ligne, et je vois les deux kernels que j'ai dispos : le 80 et le 96.

J'ai lancé l'ancien (pour moi, le 80), et les drivers NVidia se sont chargés, mais le système saccade toujours (dans un jeu flash, je n'ai pas réussi à trouver l'économiseur d'écran pac-man qui pourtant rendait bien visible le problème).

Y a-t-il un autre test à mener qui pourrait aider ?

regarde si beagle n'est pas activé, moi il me mange de beaucoup ressource au départ. Ensuite le dernier pilote nvidia est une vrai m.... pour pas dire autre chose, il mets n'importe quoi en fréquence d'écran, il plante avec certain site, bloque tout par moment (testé sur une GF 5500 athlon 2200+). Après est ce que la version du noyau depuis la 2080 ne bloque pas qqpart? j'ai des plantages noyau quand je branche ma tablette graphique ou que je lance certain encodage vidéo! SELinux à l'air de mettre le bazard! par contre depuis la mise à jour du serveur Xorg sur le pc nvidia ça ne merdoit plus et ne bouffe plus 80% du cpu. Il est a noté que certains plug ins de superkaramba foutent la m... aussi....

Comment puis-je savoir stp si beagle et/ou SELinux tournent en tâche de fond, afin que je les désactive stp ? (Les drivers nvidia ne sont pas chargés avec ma version 96 du noyau).

avec ksysguard si t'est sous kde (y marche aussi sous gnome 😉). Sinon "ps -aux" avec un terminal (ou console comme tu veux ...)

Bah oui, mais tu sais, à part Firefox, la console et Thunderbird que je devais avoir d'ouverts, je n'ai rien ajouté à ce que Fedora Core lance par défaut au démarrage.

En fait, il semblerait que plusieurs personnes aient repéré ce soucis de saccades : si tu dis que mon système lance une blindée de processus, alors c'est que le soucis doit être 'standard' à la Fedora Core 5.

En un sens, c'est mieux : le 'loup' que j'ai peut-être levé en signalant ce soucis à priori mineur, va peut-être permettre d'apporter une solution à beaucoup plus de monde qu'on n'aurait pu le penser au départ !

Non en fait c'est normal.
C'est typique d'une distro "user-friendly" ... ça te balance 200 démons dont t'as rien à foutre parce quelqu'un d'autre en aura besoin...
Fut un temps on ajoutait ce qu'on avait besoin avec Nux... maintenant le bordel c'est de retirer ce dont on se contrefous.

euh on dirait que c'est ton acpi qui s'excite un peu.

par exemple,

Je ne sais pas ce qu'est ACPI (je pense que c'est le système de mise en veille des portables, c'est ça ?), et du coup je ne pense pas y avoir touché.

J'ai un ordinateur desktop, et je veux bien virer ça pour voir si ça a un impact.

Donc c'est certanement pas l'acpi. En plus vaut mieux pas le désactiver, il gère + ou - le ventilo
