Nvidia 9600GT...encore

Bonjour à tous,

Je viens de faire une install toute fraiche de F12. Tout est Ok, j'ai fait les mises à jour puis installé Kmod-nvidia 190.4-1.fc12.8.i686.
Malheureusement quand je reboot, ma carte ventile toujours comme un folle, signe bien connu qu'elle n'a pas les bons drivers.

Alors conformément à la doc j'ai fait:

modinfo -n nvidia qui renvoie:
/lib/modules/2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686/extra/nvidia/nvidia.ko

rpm -q kmod nvidia qui renvoie:
Kmod-nvidia 190.4-1.fc12.8.i686

uname -r qui renvoie:
2.6.31.66.166.fc12.i686

Tout semble donc ok.

Par contre j'ai essayer d'ouvrir mon Xorg.conf avec kwrite et le fichier est vide... ça se génère pas tout seul le Xorg???

Voilà si quelqu'un peut m'aider...

Tu as essayé de l'ouvrir avant d'avoir rebooté ou après ?
Au reboot, normalement, livna-config-display génère un xorg.conf basique qui fonctionne bien.

P.S. : Quand tu mentionnes une commande et le résultat de celle-ci dans un post, fais attention de ne pas faire de fautes 😉
Par exemple tu dis que tu as fait rpm -q kmod nvidia et en fait tu as dû faire rpm -q kmod-nvidia. Ca évitera à d'autres personnes de faire des erreurs par copié-collé !

J'ai surtout l'impression que tu utilises le driver nouveau.

Que donne les commandes suivantes :

$ lsmod |grep nouveau

et

$ lsmod |grep nvidia

Si tu as encore nouveau à la place de nvidia et que tu es sûr de l'installation du bon kmod-nvidia alors il te faut appliquer la procédure suivante http://doc.fedora-fr.org/wiki/Carte_graphique_NVIDIA_:_installation_des_pilotes#Fedora_11.2C_Fedora_12_et_nouveau

Salut,

Après reboot mon Xorg est toujours vide.

Ton Xorg.0.log montre bien que c'est le driver nouveau et non pas le driver nvidia qui est lançé
Ca veut donc dire que livna-config-display n'a pas généré un xorg.conf.
Suis la procédure mentionnée Ici de façon à ce que le driver nouveau ne soit pas lançé. Puis tu tapes en console livna-config-display et tu vérifies que la case soit bien cochée devant Allow livna-config-display to edit configuration files.
Ensuite tu rebootes et un xorg.conf devrait être généré automatiquement par livna-config-display.

Salut à vous deux,

Hier suite à un coup de "ça me les brises linux", j'ai refait une install complète de Fedora en disant que si ça remerde je repasse sous win.
Résultat: que j'installe le Kmod-nvidia 190 ou 173xx, il me fait un écran noir avec deux lignes identiques qui disent un truc genre:
[drm] nouveau... bla bla. Je m'en souviens plus bien. Je vous poste ça plus précisément ce soir en rentrant du taf.

En tout cas je suis en full linux depuis 2 ans. J'ai quitté Ubuntu car chaque upgrade ya la moitié de la distrib qui part en couille et maintenant Fedora ne veut pas m'installer mes drivers vidéo... je commence sérieusement à me décourager de linux!

Au passage c'est pas fedora qui part en "couille", mais le pilote proprio qui ne suit pas... et vu que Fedora vas toujours de l'avant...

Il doit te manquer quelque chose, parce que normalement livna-config-display devrait t'avoir générer un xorg.conf!

Salut Melierax.

D'après ton Xorg.0.log, ta carte graphique est une GeForce 9600 GT. Tu as donc besoin du kmod-nvidia-190.42.1.fc12.8.i686.rpm qui t'installera le kmod-nvidia-2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686-190.42.1.fc12.8.i686 si ton kernel est le 2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686. ( Il faut que les versions du kmod-nvidia et du kernel soient les mêmes ! ) Au passage, s'installeront également les xorg-x11-drv-nvidia et xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs qui correspondent à la version du kmod-nvidia.

Inutile donc d'installer le kmod-nvidia-173xx-173.14.22.1.fc12.4.i686 ou le kmod-nvidia-96xx-96.43.14.1.fc12.4.i686 qui sont prévus pour des cartes graphiques avec GPUs plus anciens que le tien !!! Si tu les as installés, il faut les virer !

La commande que VINDICATORs te demande de poster donnera toutes les infos nécessaires pour vérifier tout cela ( si c'est le bon kernel pour ton CPU, quelle est ta carte graphique ( avec ton Xorg.0.log, on sait déjà que c'est une 9600 GT ) ...etc... ) !
A titre d'exemple, voici ce que donne cette commande chez moi :

OK, j'ai fait les commandes demandées et effectivement j'avais les drivers nouveau encore actifs.
En suivant la doc ça marcha maintenant.
Mais ne crions pas victoire trop vite: depuis que kmod est installé, le pc réagit très lentement quand je presse le bouton de menu ou quand je fais un alt-f2, au point même de freezer complètement!

En fait il s'agit bug connu lié au Xorg Server.
Il suffit de télécharger et installer xorg-x11-server-Xorg et xorg-x11-server-common ici pour résoudre le problème.
Pas mal d'explications dans ce post et sur ce blog pour les anglophones.

En tout cas merci les gars pour votre aide
