Alors voilà, je viens de passer sous Fedora avec la 10 et j'ai visiblement un problème de son: alors que le volume est quasi à fond que ce soit dans Pulseaudio ou dans l'applet de volume, le son est faible et crachote un peu sur les bords. J'ai vérifié ma connectique et tout est bon.
Va t'il falloir que je désactive Pulseaudio ou le problème est autre part?

même problème. La commande id sous mon login donne :

Testé avec vlc et totem (mp3, divx, mkv....), bizarrement dans totem le son ne "crache" pas alors que dans vlc oui.
Comme le dit pmarion le son est présent mais il faut mettre les haut parleurs au max pour entendre quelque chose.

Cela revient au même on peut avec system-config-user :
Ajouter un groupe à la liste des groupes d'un utilisateur
Ajouter un utilisateur à la liste des utilisateurs d'un groupe

Le résultat est toujours dans la liste des utilisateurs dans le fichier /etc/group.

Oui, j'avais marqué pulseaudio mais c'est bien pulse-rt.

J'ai ajouté le groupe pulse-rt et ca ne change rien. Par contre j'ai remarquer que tu a miq : groupes=494(pulse-rt) alors que moi j'ai groupes=497(pulse-rt) comme Cricket.
J'ai meme testé d'ajouté les autre groupes pulse :

uid=500(trantor) gid=500(trantor) groups=496(pulse-access),497(pulse-rt),498(pulse),500(trantor) mais change rien.

Dans totem le son est toujours faible, mais il ne "crache" pas. J'ai également remarquer que dans les options de de vlc on peu regler l'ouput qui est sur default, j'ai essayé ALSA et UNIX OSS mais ca fait la même chose.

Quand je lance pulseaudio j'ai une belle erreur :

[trantor@opteron ~]$ pulseaudio

Chez moi, le problème est toujours présent.
Je vais ajouter de l'eau à votre moulin.
J'ai aussi un son très faible, de bonne qualité, mais je suis obligé de tout poussé à fond.

Avant de poster, j'ai ajouter mon user au groupe pulse-rt.
J'espère qu'une solution sera trouvé, car la fedora 10 est vraiment très bien.
En cherchant dans les options j'ai trouvé (par hasard) le problème à la question.

Sous Gnome:
Système --> Préférence --> Matériel --> Contrôleur de volume

Et on met PCM à fond 😉

si ça ne marche pas, sous KDE : f=>Applications=>Administration=>Utilisateurs et groupes
Puis edition=>Préférences=>décocher la case masquer les utilisateurs système
Puis cliquer ou double cliquer je sais plus sur ton nom
Onglet groupes
Choisir au moins pulse-rt
Et puis si ça ne marche pas, je ne sais pas quoi dire....
Quand à Gnome, je ne l'utilise pas, je ne peux pas te dire...
Moi tout est déjà à fond, que ce soit dans le mixeur Gnome ou PulseAudio...

J'ai remarqué Cricket que tu a le même genre de carte mère que moi Asus + Realtek ALCxxx peut être un problème avec ce chip ?

Je ne pense pas, j'ai une carte son sound blaster audigy 2, et j'ai aussi le problème du son qui crachouille...
D'autant plus que je n'ai eu aucun problème de ce coté-là avec toutes mes précédentes distros...
